The technology addition to the Warsaw Community Schools administration building is underway. Construction began in September and is expected to be completed by April 30.
North Webster Town Council members for 2004 are Kay Andrews, Jon Sroufe and Jane Shepherd. Andrews was elected president. Betsy Luce will serve as clerk-treasurer. Etna Green Town Attorney Jay Rigdon swore in newly elected councilman Todd Slabaugh and re-elected clerk-treasurer Laura Baker. Eileen Hall was re-elected council president with Andy Cook serving as vice president. Keith Robbins was appointed to the Multi-Township EMS Board.

Mary F. Gerard, Warsaw, has been named the managing director of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Kosciusko County. She began her duties on Jan. 3, replacing Jan Day who was hired when the agency began services in 1985. Day resigned when her husband accepted an education position in southern Indiana. Gerard has worked as a case manager with Warsaw Housing Authority and as a caseworker with Combined Community Services. Prior to moving to Warsaw she was employed by the Cass County (Logansport) Prosecuting Attorney’s office and the Cass County Welfare Department.
Audrey Bishop and Donna Richards are million dollar producers in 1988 for Todd Realty. Richards took the honors as top salesperson of the year.

W. Robert Hall Agency, 122 W. Market St., Warsaw, announce that they have formed a partnership effective Jan. 1 to operate the business under the name Hall and Marose Agency.
A new collection agent for General Telephone has been appointed in Bourbon, according to C.J. Lehman, division manager. Effective Jan. 6 the new agent will be Dillingham’s Grocery, 209 N. Main St.
“The Burning of the Greens” program will be held Jan. 6 at the fairgrounds. Christmas trees will be picked up at the curb by city trucks and placed in the pile already at the fairgrounds. James Bell is arrangements chairman.

Norman Wiard, 122 S. Grant St., Warsaw, landed a 9-pound pike beauty at Pike Lake, fishing with live minnow bait.
Hardy Songer, Jr., son of Coach and Mrs. Hardy Songer of Palestine and Burket and a former Burket High School basketball star, is playing on the Wabash freshman football team and has the possibilities of a star according to Pete Vaughn, athletic head at the college. His father coached Mentone High School’s “Wonder Five” to state honors in 1935 and is now instructor and coach at Burket High School.
Sybil Saylor, daughter of Mrs. Joyce K. Saylor, Winona Lake, has been honored by election to the office of treasurer of the Spectators Club at Ashland College, Ohio, where she is enrolled in the freshman class.
