Wes Miller, local insurance broker, recently returned from Kauai, Hawaii, where the 300 top agents for North American Company for Life and Health attended the company's largest convention. Miller received recognition for producing more individual life premiums than any other agent in Indiana.
Mrs. Minerva Zimmerman, of Silver Lake, is 102 years of age but that doesn't keep her from exercising her right to vote. Zimmerman said she had been voting since women were first allowed to vote following passage of the Women's Suffrage Act in 1920 (19th Amendment to the Constitution). Zimmerman said she had voted "straight Democrat" all her life.
Ralph W. Gibert and Von Wilson were welcomed into membership of the John C. Peterson Post of the American Legion at the regular business meeting.
