Warsaw Mayor Ernie Wiggins ordered Girl Scout cookies from Mariah Perry and Brittany Butler, members of Troop 60 from Eisenhower Elementary. Orders will be taken through Jan. 26 and delivered by the end of February.
The third, fourth and fifth-grade students at Akron Elementary School’s Learning Accelerated Motivational Program published picture books about dinosaurs and shared them with Deb Tillman’s kindergarten classes. Fifth-grader Abby Higgins reads her book to Nicholas Caudill, Caleb Bandow, Morgan Brazo, Tyler Ross, Erika Craft, Joshua Back and Lisa Fournier.

Charlene Bradbury has served as administrator of Prairie-View Rest Home in Warsaw for more than 20 years. She has announced plans to retire this month. She joined Prairie-View’s staff in December 1964 as bookkeeper. She studied and received her administrator’s license in June 1969. She has served in various capacities in the community and was honored for her many years of civic service by being named Warsaw’s Woman of the Year in 1985.
The Wagon Wheel Theatre announces the rest of the winter season beginning with a return performance by Dan Seals on Feb. 4. His 1987 concert prompted The Times-Union reviewer to write “...the full crowd was rocking in their seats to the boppin tunes.”

Robert E. Delp, executive vice president of Zimmer Manufacturing Co., North Detroit St., acted as master of ceremonies at the Christmas party held at the new Shrine Building at the fairgrounds. He introduced Joe Ettinger, former president and chairman of the board, to present the service awards: 20-year gold watch to Aubrey Noble; 15 years – Alton L. Gunter, Robert E. Garee, William F. Hand, James R. Hyde, Charles E. Wagner, Frederick M. Thrasher, Max R. Baker, Herman G. Ginther, William A. Pattengale, Harry W. Robinson; 10 years – Margret N. Hughes, Maudie L. Clark, Milo W. Griffith, Eldon L. Wise; five years – Norman C. Thompson, Gene M. Farling, Larry L. Hemmer, Ted L. Dock, Dale J. Warner, Charles E. Osborn. President James F. Hartle (31 years)  presented seniority awards to 18 employees for more than 20 years of service.

The Greider Bros. farm implement supply store located in the Oram Building on West Center Street opened for business featuring Allis-Chalmers sales and services and repairs. The store is under the direction of Carl and Reginald Greider of North Webster and will be displaying the new Kuhlman corn picker and the newest economy model tractor from Allis-Chalmers.
The local Elks Lodge 802 is planning an extensive remodeling program. All rooms are to be redecorated with new furniture throughout. The cost will be approximately $5,000 or $6,000. Warsaw Moose Lodge 1423 opened its fall and winter dance season Saturday with Bill Jackson and his orchestra from Peru. The hall is newly-decorated and and furnished.
