10 Years Ago Everett “Deacon” Scott, uncle to Warsaw’s Scott and Vicki Shepherd Wiley, was a shortstop in 1918 when the Yankees played the Boston Red Sox in the World Series. Scott was Babe Ruth’s roommate on road trips. Stephanie M. Overbey, Warsaw, has been selected as a member of the 2004-05 class of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series. As a participant, she will receive training to serve in key governmental and political positions. Overbey is the program officer at Kosciusko County Community Foundation. Rubinoff was made famous on the radio’s “Eddie Cantor Show” and “Chase and Sanborn Hour.” He explained to the students that the proceeds from the concert would go to the Lions Club to buy glasses for needy children.
