The Lake City Bank Presidential Citation was recently presented by LCB president Doug Grant to Jean Ciriello, Jeanine Knowles and Will Schieler. This prestigious award is presented annually to employees who have been nominated by fellow employees and who have enhanced the image of Lake City Bank or the banking world within our community.
In a mid-court celebration scene usually reserved for tournament victories, members of the Warsaw Community High School girls' basketball team showed their glee after upsetting unbeaten and sixth-ranked Goshen, 60-57, in overtime in the WCHS gym.
Captain Thomas A. Eaton and Captain John Robert "Bob" Bayne were elevated to new posts in the National Guard. Capt. Bayne, of Warsaw, succeeded Capt. Eaton as commander of the local Company L unit. Capt. Eaton, of Silver Lake, assumed duties as executive office of the Third Batallion in Fort Wayne.
The Easy Aces Bridge Club met at the home of Josephine Lafler for its regular fort-nightly session. Two tables of bridge progressed with Alice Watkins winning the prize. All then attended the late show at the Centennial Theater. Those present were Alice Watkins, Helen Watkins, Mary M. Kesler, Betty Taylor, Barbara Dickey, Ruth Edgar, Wilma Ruse and Josephine Lafler.
