Hippolite “Dan” Netter, long-time Warsawan, today celebrated his 85th birthday and gave many of his old friends uptown a pleasant call. He is in good health and active. Mr. Netter was born in Alsace Lorraine, France, and at 17 ran away from home to join the French army against the Germans in the war of 1870 in which he fought for many months. As a young man he emigrated to America, settled at Pierceton where he operated a meat market before coming to Warsaw more than 45 years ago.
