    With his family and supporters alongside him, Aaron Rovenstine strolled into the Justice Building late last night with a grin on his face and victory at hand.

Rovenstine will be carrying on the legacy of his father, Al Rovenstine, as Kosciusko County's next sheriff. He won over his opponent, Democrat Jeff Bronsing.

    Kosciusko County Auditor Jean Northenor announced she has accepted the newly-created position of marketing officer with Lake City Bank, effective Jan. 1, 1984.

After an eight-year stint as county auditor, Northenor will leave public office and join a growing number of local public figures to accept top posts with the Warsaw-based bank.

    Karen Heckaman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Heckaman, Silver Lake, was awarded a $50 savings bond at the State Health and Achievement Day in Indianapolis for outstanding work during the past year.

Karen is the H and S leader for the Jolly Franklinettes 4-H Club which represented all the 4-H girls clubs in the Fort Wayne district.

    Paul Landis was fishing at Winona Lake, not for the usual fine "catch," but for his fishing tackle, which he lost when his canoe capsized. Landis was fishing in a canoe, when he felt a large fish on his line. In his attempt to land it the canoe upset, and he had to swim to shore on Yarnelle Point without his fishing paraphernalia.
