Tippecanoe Valley graduate and current University of St. Francis basketball player Trey Eaton is tied for fifth in the nation in NAIA Division II free throw shooting percentage at 92.2 percent. Eaton, a 6-foot-4 guard and Valley’s all-time leading scorer, has made 95 of 103 free throw attempts this season and leads the NAIA in free throws made. He set a record at St. Francis by making 31 consecutive free throws over the course of seven games.

John Widaman, former Warsaw High School football and basketball star, will draw the left end position Saturday as the Hoosiers battle Ohio State’s powerful grid machine in the opening Big Ten game for both schools. Widaman is a senior and has been a member of the Indiana University squad the past three years. Last year the Hoosiers knocked Ohio State out of a share in the championship with Minnesota by a brilliant 10 to 0 upset. Many Warsawans are planning to attend.
Frank Meredith’s band had rips in their uniforms. Some uniforms were torn when caught on barbed wire while making a getaway from sampling watermelons.
