    Janet Zimmer made her first hole in one. Zimmer aced Rozella Ford's 133-yard, par-three, hole No. 5 using a five-iron on Nov. 1.

    POTPOURRI - Kosciusko County Court Judge James C. Jarrette, who has the power to marry couples, was on the other side of the bench recently.

Judge Jarrette and Teri Donna Chapleski, of South Bend, were married in a private ceremony at his East Main Street home.

    Pamela Brown, of Route 1, has been elected to Phi Sigma Iota, romance language honorary, at Indiana University, Bloomington. Brown is a senior.

November 3 1933

    "Chiefie" of Police Frank Lucas the other day purchased a team of horses at a fancy price with which to stock his farm in the south part of the county. "Spark" and "Plug" were being towed through Warsaw by Lonnie Morgan when on East South Street "Plug" up and died. Morgan said he overheard the dying horse make a death-bed gasp which translated from horse sense sounded like, "Lucas can't boss me. I'd rather work for Oliver Davis." This is the second horse to refuse employment from the chief.
