    Joshua J. Sweatland, 1999 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, recently accepted membership in Golden Key International Honor Society. He is a student at Ball State University. Golden Key International Honor Society is a non-profit academic honors organization that provides academic recognition, leadership opportunities, community service, career networking and scholarships.

    This favorite recipe was submitted by Avis Gunter for “Graham Cracker Roll”.
   Ingredients: One pound graham crackers, rolled fine; One pound dates, cut up; One pound large marshmallows, cut up; One cup nuts, chopped; One small jar maraschino cherries, drained and diced; One cup whipped cream.
     Reserve a few crumbs to sprinkle on the roll and several cherries to decorate the top of the roll. Combine ingredients and form into a log. Wrap in Saran Wrap and chill and slice.

    Pick Corn for Fellow Lion - A group of Silver Lake Lions club members and friends recently picked 25 acres of corn for fellow Lion, Ballard Hackworth, who is convalescing from surgery. There were 17 men and four corn pickers, and the job was completed in less than two hours. Those who helped were Ronald Richard, Alton Kissinger, Donald Bouse, Gene Arnold, Dean Zellers, Harry Zellers, Neville Dickerson, Ted Kerlin, Stewart Lindsey, Lowell Lindsey, Phillip Harden, Jack Schuler, Jack McDonald, Harold Metzger, Wayne Bouse, William Kneller and John Conley.

    Mr. and Mrs. John Weirick have returned to their home in Warsaw, from Starkville, Miss., where they made their home for the past six months. Mr. Weirick was on business there for the Gast Construction Company. Before returning to Warsaw the Weiricks toured in Florida.
