10 Years
Skyler Scott, who graduates from Warsaw Community High School in spring 2006, has performed on the WCHS and Wagon Wheel stages for years, and was recently hired to play a thief and in the ensemble for the production of "Oliver" at the Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire, Chicago, staying with an uncle. Scott loves WWT and hopes Director Roy Hine has some work for him next summer.

     The board of directors of Lake City Bank recently announced the promotion of Clint Pletcher to senior vice president and regional manager of commercial banking covering Kosciusko, Fulton, Marshall, Pulaski and Whitley counties. He has been with Lake City Bank for 12 years.

25 Years
Chet Kammerer, now a coach at Westmont High School, Santa Barbara, Calif., will be back at the Lancer gym this weekend, Nov. 16 and 17, for the Grace College Optimist Tourney. He graduated from Leesburg High School in 1959. While at Grace, he became the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,498 points. That record still stands, lettering three years in basketball, as well as baseball and tennis. He became head coach at Grace College 25 years ago, during the 1965-66 season. One of his recruits was Grace coach Jim Kessler. During the next ten years, Kammerer led the Lancers to a 183-100 record, and has continued his success in California. Son, Chad, is a starter for this year's Westmont team, but he grew up playing basketball in the Lancer gym.

50 Years

North Webster High School cheerleaders: Sherri Rider, Marsha Bockman, Claudia Shipley and Cindy Haines. Leesburg High School cheerleaders: Mary Jane Foreman, Sharon Cremeens and Vicki Oswalt.

    Candidates for Basketball King and Queen at Larwill High School: Arden Hull, Tom Goodrich, Jim Adams, Bruce Dingus, Sharon Maggart, Jane Eiler, Linda Eberly and Sue Mathias. The students with the most votes will be crowned Nov. 12, the first game.

    Warsaw High School Girls Athletic Assn. badminton team, under the direction of Bedelia Weirick, won its third consecutive state title at Lafayette: Liz Longyear, Susanne Sadler, Lana Garber, Elaine Munson. Lana took the singles title; Elaine and Susanne were the doubles champions for the second straight year.

75 Years

Times and Union news boys were selling "election extras" with the latest returns early Wednesday morning, Nov. 6, throughout Warsaw and Kosciusko County, and were permitted to keep the money they made. Inside, the automatic United Press teletype machines, pounding incessantly throughout the day and night at nearly 70 words per minute, were able to supply readers with election news and returns far in advance of radio or metropolitan newspapers distributed in this territory.

    Livestock dealer Dan Netter and farmer Alfred Sloane were awarded gold buttons at the Masonic Temple here Friday night, Nov. 8, for 50 years as Masons.

    Mayor John G. Hansman announced through Councilman Wesley Light that Thanksgiving Day in Warsaw will be observed Thursday, November 21, as set by President Roosevelt for the nation.
