There’s excitement in the air around Grace College. Just ask volleyball coach Candice Moats about it. Say the word volleyball, and she lights up like a Christmas tree. Maybe it is because Christmas is coming early for the Lancers this year. The Grace College volleyball team is headed for Palm Beach, Fla., and the NAIA National Championships, and no one could be prouder than Moats.

This dessert recipe appeared in the Spotlight Contest for Fudge Mint Torte.
1 package (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate pieces; 1 cup butter; 1-1/2 cup packed brown sugar; 4 eggs; 1-1/2 cup sifted all purpose flour; 2 cups heavy whipped cream; 1/4 to 1/3 cup creme de menthe; 2 tbsp. powdered sugar. Combine chocolate and butter in pan. Heat until melted, pour into bowl. Beat in sugar, eggs, and mix well; add flour. Pour into greased floured pans; bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool on racks. Stack and fill layers with filling, and cover top with filling. Filling: Whip cream, creme de menthe, and sugar until stiff. Carol Babb, Warsaw

Warsaw High School’s assistant basketball coach, Burt Niles, recently was afforded the honor of pinning the Eagle Scout award on his son, Mike, age 14, at the Troop 30 (Methodist Church) court of honor in Warsaw. Mike’s mother, was also “pinned” with a mother’s pin, a miniature of the Eagle award.

The city council recently by unanimous vote gave permission to the Kosciusko County Fair Association for the 1937 fair to be held upon the streets of Warsaw. The details to be worked out immediately between the fair association and council. The council reversed its action, taken previous to the holding of the 1936 fair, in which it recommended that arrangements be made to hold the fair off the streets of Warsaw.
