    Children from Eisenhower Elementary recently designed covers for their favorite books for Children's Book Week. Winning best covers were John Cooper and Kayla Yantz, kindergarten; Alisha Westerman, first grade; Karley Sasso, third grade; Cho Basden, second grade; Adria Gosney, sixth grade; Ryan Curran, fourth grade; and Eric Laurent, fifth grade.

    The Madison School cheerleaders won the competition award at the recent Warsaw Community High School Cheerleaders citywide clinic. Winners are: Jennifer Schmitt, Kelley Cook, Missy Winger, Lesa Coldren, Ashley White and Janice Keaton.

November 24 1957

    Pfc. Ronald L. Kiser, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Kiser, North Webster, participated in Operation Cool Dip, a First Marine division cold weather landing exercise on Kodiak Island in the Alaskan Gulf. The maneuver involved a 1,600-man task force testing new types of clothing and equipment.

November 24 1932

    An indoor carnival to take place at the Warsaw community hall, will be staged here soon under auspices of the Moose Lodge of Warsaw. Music, vaudeville, dancing, concessions, contest.

However, the spectacular feature of the enterprise will be the awarding of a human baby to some attendant at the fair as a special award under a plan to be announced later. The promoters claim the live human baby award idea has been executed by them with great success and satisfaction elsewhere, despite considerable spirited opposition from mothers' clubs and others.
