This will be the 19th year of officiating volleyball and fifth state championship for Kirk Robinson of Akron, a 1977 graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School. Dan Richard of Warsaw has been officiating volleyball for 23 years and will be working in his sixth state championship.
Mike Mulligan and Jeff Howie have joined the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department as deputy patrolmen. Both have past experience in law enforcement. Brian Roberts was sworn in as a new Warsaw police officer.

Local service clubs have again volunteered to ring bells for the Salvation Army Christmas fund-raising campaign. Jerry Irvine represents the Noon Kiwanis Club; Max Gross, Shrine Club; Lester Davis, Warsaw Evening Lions Club; and Dennis Burch, Rotary Club. Salvation Army Captain is Kenneth Locke.
The Tippecanoe Valley High School drama club, MacBeth and Company, will perform the George Bernard Shaw play “Pygmalion” Nov. 10 and 12. Members of the cast include: Brian Frushour as Henry Higgins; Teresa Surface as Liza Doolittle; and Micah Collett as Colonel Pickering. Beth Barr is directing with Chad Secrist assisting.

Richard Reed has been appointed by the Whitko School Board to succeed Howard Stouffer as principal of the Pierceton School. He has been assistant for the past five years, and has taught vocational agriculture, shop and chemistry for the past 14. Stouffer has been principal since 1947 and teacher there since 1938. He resigned to become principal at Klondike School near Lafayette.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur C. Chaney, 950 E. Fort Wayne St., are the proud grandparents of Eric Todd Chaney, born Sept. 12 in North Africa where his father, Bruce, is serving a tour of duty with the State Department. His mother is the former Sandy Adkinson.

Wallace Bash, son of Mrs. Flint Bash, 221 West Main St., will go to Bloomington where he has entered Indiana medical school. He transferred in his fourth year from Michigan University to Indiana University. He will be accompanied by John DeFries of Milford. Miss Janet Bash spent the summer in Warsaw with her mother. She will teach this winter at Beechgrove grade school in Indianapolis.
Phyllis Reyome and Mildred Cauffman have been voted the best orange-ade makers in town. Estelle Lynch is a soda jerk at Knights.
Dentist John R. White is exuberant over the antics of his three-week-old grandson, Billy Bob Border.
