The winners of the Health Care Foundation of Kosciusko County’s Festival of Trees coloring contest were: up to 4 years old category: Camille Kerlin, first; Zach Laureano, second; Ben Kern, third; 5-7 years old: Shemuel Ong, second; Reghan Craig, third; (no first place published); 8-10 years old: Ammierl Ong, first; Samuel Richardson, second-tie; Kalli Vokert, second-tie; 11-12 years old: Jeriel Ong, first; Davy Hudson, second. Sue Noppert, representing Harmony Visual Communications, Bourbon, awarded the children prizes donated by Harmony.

Thirteen band students from Warsaw Middle and Freshman High Schools have been selected to participate in the Indiana Bandmasters Association 1986 All Region Honor Band today and Sunday in Butler. Twelve of the students are: Stacey Darling, Kim Dresch, Melissa Fuller, Stephanie Hoppus, Lindsey Bush, Andrea Hanson, Tom Price, Melinda Sharkozy, Matt Bussard, Amy Tuura, Darren Skinner and Dave Schwartz.

This recipe is from the Women’s Exchange column for Raw Cranberry Sauce.

Put 1 quart cranberries, 2 Delicious apples, and 1/2 orange peel through food chopper. Cut 2 large oranges in small sections with scissors and add 2 cups sugar. Stir mixture well and set in refrigerator. It will keep for several days. It can be served as a sauce; or congealed as a salad with 2 cups of pecans added; or as a dessert in little parfait glasses. Halve this recipe for a small family.

Mr. and Mrs. N. Hammond and Miss Mary Hammond have returned to their home in Winona Lake after visiting for the past two weeks in Indianapolis with Mr. and Mrs. William Hammond and the Rev. and Mrs. H.L. Overdeer and family.
