10 Years Ago The Bell Aircraft Museum held a fly-in Nov. 9. The fly-in was made by a 47G helicopter that dated back to the Korean War era. It was piloted by Dave James from Wayne, Mich. The helicopter is one of many manufactured by the Bell Corp. and was the first to land on the newly constructed helicopter pad. The event marked the dedication of the newly installed helicopter pad, built in memory of the late William Ettinger, a former museum board of directors member. 25 Years Ago Four members of the Warsaw girls swim team, Katie McCaffrey, Cindy Keough, Kara Hoskins and Ivy Reed, will participate at the state swim meet at Indianapolis. In addition to these four local girls, Cyndi Guimond, Danielle Iwankowitsch, Sherry Payne and Lori Boles from Wawasee also will participate. Diane Sisk will represent Tippecanoe Valley at the state meet. 50 Years Ago Several members of the Senior Citizens Club presented a play “The Moments Drag,” at the recent meeting held in the recreation room of the First National Bank. Those who participated were Mrs. Dessie Mesnard, Mrs. Goldie Metz, Mrs. Irene Alexander, Mrs. Ida Salman and Mrs. Gladys Renier. They were dressed in fashions from the “Gay Nineties” era. 75 Years Ago Emerson Mosier, Miss Jane Shoemaker, Wade Knisely, Miss Willodean Bowers, Jack Knisely, Miss Mary Ellen Burwell, Donald Babcock, Miss Dorothy May Burwell, Ernest Unowicz, Clifford Pifer and Wendel Madeford attended the dance at Goshen recently.
