Despite his age he works as head sawyer at Charles Pearson’s sawmill and performs other tasks. That octogenarian Burke is made of stern stuff, is shown by the fact that when a Times reporter interviewed him a few days ago, he had just finished unloading a carload of coal with shovel, single-handed. He did the work in two days, a feat for a real man of any age. Burke lives with his granddaughter, Mrs. Viola Kissinger.
