Julie Bailey joined Randy Reneker and the team at Reneker’s Sports Shop, 618 N. Detroit St., as an embroidery specialist. She had her own shop on Winona Avenue for six years.
Roger Grossman of WRSW 107.3 wore the tall, red-and-white-striped hat from Dr. Seuss’ Cat in the Hat. He read “Green Eggs and Ham” to Mrs. Knavel’s first-grade class at Jefferson Elementary School as part of “National Reader’s Day.”
The town of Milford hired Mike Brubaker to be the new wastewater plant operator. He will start after the facility is completed, estimated to be late November.

Sacred Heart was one of the co-champions in Warsaw Elementary volleyball action, the first time the team had won the title. Amy Landis, Shannon Smith, Melanie Silver, Sherry Haines, Celeste Cooning, Veronica Jensen, Meg Myers, Elizabeth Hogan, Andrea Pfister, Tara Roe, Sara Burns, Fayth Reed, Colleen McCullough, Stephanie Burish, Pam Hogan, Katie Clemens, coaches Lili Polk and Barb Haines ended with a 6-0 record.
Construction of the new 265,000-square-foot Warsaw Community High School on Ind. 15 will not be complete until March or April 1990. The partially-completed building opened Aug. 24, 1989, to 434 freshmen, according to Principal William Landrigan. The unfinished building is scheduled to open for 10th, 11th and 12th-graders Jan. 17.

The Superintendent of Lakeland Community Schools, Lewis Immel, reports that students from Milford, Leesburg, North Webster and Syracuse will all attend one high school at the beginning of the 1967-68 school year. A schedule has been set for the planning of the new building, which is to be completed by Sept. 1, 1967.
There were 141 persons who gave blood during the “Blood Hootenanny” Friday in the Grace College gymnasium. The victory bell outside the gym pealed when Red Cross chairman Fred J. Anglin announced that six pints over the quota of 125 pints had been given. Five-gallon donors were Marvin W. Becker, James Longenbaugh, Warren Anderson and William Outcalt, all of Warsaw. Mrs. James Thomas and Mrs. Howard Scott served as chairman and co-chairman of the event.

Merrill Nealy, Elkhart, has accepted a position as manager of the Jet White meat department, it was announced by store manager Harry Hall. Nealy was previously employed with Jet White stores as a meat cutter for more than eight years at Elkhart before the store was sold. He replaces Owen Emerick who will be in charge of the former Adamson meat market.
Henry Butler, manager of the Albion Production Credit Association, will move his office into a newly-decorated location at 120 W. Market St., formerly occupied by Addie Frankford, hat shop proprietor.
Harry Bicknell, Findlay, Ohio, has taken over the management of the local Gamble store. The Bud Sjoquist family left Saturday for Findlay, where Sjoquist will manage another Gamble store.
