10 Years Ago According to the October issue of American Libraries, for its size Bell Memorial Public Library ranks second in the state of Indiana and fourth in the nation. In a cooperative venture with Tippecanoe Valley School Corp., Bell Memorial has upgraded its automation system to ACCENT and now shares its catalogue online. This will save the community money and more users can access Bell’s materials. 25 Years Ago High winds caused the collapse of the framework for the future Bourbon Bible Church Monday night. Volunteers from the church had been constructing the building and had just put up the trusses Saturday. Church officials had hoped to have the structure enclosed before winter set in, but workers will now have to start again from scratch. An estimated $30,000 in material was blown over. The church has insurance which will cover most of the damage. Some of the materials may be salvaged. 50 Years Ago Alan and Sharon Grimm of Atwood received the “most accurate record award” at the district 4-H and FFA commercial beef banquet in Fort Wayne recently. They kept feed and weight records on the family’s 80 head of feeder cattle for 312 days. Their parents are Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Grimm, Warsaw. 75 Years Ago Mrs. P.S. Chinworth suffered a compound fracture to her left arm at the wrist recently as she was walking to prayer meeting. Mrs. Chinworth fell at the corner of High Street and Winona Avenue. She is resting at her home in Warsaw. Edward Good and Stanton Thomas, students at Purdue University, will spend the week-end with relatives at Leesburg.
