The September/October issue of the Indiana Beef magazine features two Kosciusko County FFA students who were recognized for beef production at the state FFA convention held at Purdue University: runner-up, Jared Haughee, Warsaw, and third-place winner, Katie Darr, Syracuse.
Lake City Bank’s downtown office is now displaying a collection of quilts, which will be sold and the money raised will benefit the Catherine Peachey Fund.
Max Courtney, senior vice president of Mutual Federal Savings Bank, announced that Clare Baumgardt will be the manager of their newest branch office in Syracuse, which is currently under construction. She is president of the board for United Way of Kosciusko County.

 Natural Furniture factory outlet opened a new store at 1787 E. Kosciusko Drive, Warsaw, featuring wall systems and entertainment centers in solid oak and selected hardwoods.
Sun Mart, Old 30W, is under the new ownership of Bess Ronk, Max Jones and Scott Williams. Grand opening prize winners and prizes were Diane Wagley, a color television; and DeWayne Barker, two tickets to the Lee Greenwood concert at Wagon Wheel Theatre.
R.R. Donnelley and Sons honors 25-year employees: Steve Light, Robert Schlag, Jack Stump, Richard Jaynes, Russ Reichard, Walt Kelley, Elois Brown, Ray Salmons, Carl Davis, Doug Cripe and Dick Wright.
Fifth-graders at Washington Elementary observed Veteran’s Day with Captain Eric Weaver, commander of the Indiana National Guard, First Battalion, Co. E, stationed in Warsaw.

County Commissioner Fred Gilliam plans to get cooperation and consent of colleagues Lawrence Butts (Beaver Dam) and Ray Ferverda (Milford) to repaint the courthouse dome silver, place an American flag on top and spotlight the dome at night.
Warsaw High School’s Ex Libris officers for 1964-65 are Kathy McClure, president; Claudette Himes, vice president; Mavis Fredricks, secretary/treasurer; and Patsy Stein, hostess. Mamie Braddock is sponsor. The Girls Athletic Association is practicing for the state badminton tournament at Lafayette Jefferson High School Oct. 31. The girls are defending state champions. Bedelia Weirick is sponsor of GAA. Thirty girls have joined Future Homemakers of America, making the club’s membership 59. Mary Reece sponsors the organization.

 Gustave Tatter Jr. and Robert J. Pfleiderer, Warsaw, will present a two-piano program Sept. 17, at the United Brethren Church.
Wallace Bash, son of Mrs. Flint Bash, Warsaw, has enrolled as a sophomore in the Indiana Medical School, Indianapolis. Marjorie Dague bought a bicycle to use to convey her from her residence on South Indiana Street to her office position at the Dundee Furniture Factory on West Market Street each day. Janice Ruse, North Columbia Street, has accepted a position in the offices of Dr. George Kress. Gladys Thomas, Warsaw, riding Warsawan Buck Smith’s western stallion, placed fourth in the ladies’ open division at the Akron fair horse show.
