Award-winning food columnist and cook book author Marcia Adams will be the star attraction Dec. 5 at the “Wreath of Hope” Holiday Tea. The tea is a fundraiser for Cardinal Center, Warsaw. Adams’ presentation will focus on holiday entertaining, based on her cookbook, “Christmas in the Heartland,” and she will have some cookbooks available for sale after the tea.

Madison Elementary School Principal Steve Hassinger handed out awards to 24 Madison School “Citizens of The Month” for September. A pupil from each Madison class was chosen by their teacher for the award. Those named were: Grade One - Becky Foreman, Rosalyn Chamberlin, Lindsay Rawlings, Rick Watters. Grade Two - April Hilliard, Nathan Hall, Suzie Staley, Kari Hughes. Grade Three - Leah Reed, Brian Logan, Cissy Espinoza. Grade Four - Barbara Burchett, Josh Burgher, Jake Townsend. Grade Five - Jennifer Conley, Wesley Zirkle, David Slone. Grade Six - Shanda Ward, Carrie Ann Seiffert, Vanessa Strayer.

Three Bourbon “Bobs” - Robert Martin, Robert Wiedeman and Robert Chenoweth have won a trip to the National Junior Vegetable Growers Association convention in Detroit in December by placing third in the state vegetable judging contest held recently at Purdue University. Parents of the boys are Mr. and Mrs. Conda Martin, Mr. and Mrs. John Wiedeman and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Chenoweth.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Boice accompanied the latter’s father, Thomas Huff, to Chicago recently. Mr. Huff is en route to his home in Hollywood, Calif. He has visited for some time in Warsaw with his two daughters, Mrs. Boice and Mrs. Earl Fausnaught. Mr. and Mrs. Boice will attend the Notre Dame-Northwestern football game Saturday at Notre Dame before returning to this city.
