Much interest in organizing Kosciusko County's first historical society is evident in all parts of the county, and it is hoped that all interested persons will attend the meeting Tuesday, Nov. 16, in the Circuit Courtroom of the Kosciusko County Courthouse. Indiana will celebrate the 150th year of Statehood in 1966 and Kosciusko County should have a historical society to take the lead in promoting this county and to observe the 150th Birthday of Indiana in a fitting and proper manner. Committee chairmen: Mrs. Eva Schue, general chairman; Mrs. Ruth Kain, publicity; Mrs. William Nice, registration; Mrs. Becky Schermmerhorn, programs; Mrs. Karl Stookey, greeters; Pauline Jordan, responsible for securing a meeting place. Hubert H. Hawkins, director of the Indiana Historical Bureau, Indianapolis, will be the principal speaker.
