10 Years Ago The Greater Warsaw Cooperative Preschool visited Hilger’s Farm Market. Their adventure began with a hayride to the pumpkin patch and each child picked out his or her own pumpkin. After the hayride the children were able to run through straw and corn mazes and play on the playground. Those attending were Brittany Kennedy, Lexi O’Connnell, Evan Bremer, Brandon Johnson, Nicholas Hawn, Evan Schmidt, Luke Ganyard, Bryce Daniels, Ethan Cook and Logan Johnson. 25 Years Ago A photo of Leesburg’s Beth Hearn, 14, appeared in the “Faces in the Crowd” section in the Nov. 2 edition of Sports Illustrated. She received recognition after winning 19 of her first 20 outboard powerboat races this season, and captured national titles in both the J-Stock Hydro and the J-Stock Runabout classes at the Stock Outboard powerboat championships in HInton, W. Va. She is the daughter of Delores and Steve Hearn of Leesburg. Her father is a local attorney. 50 Years Ago Mrs. Charles L. Frushour, of Syracuse, was more than pleasantly surprised recently to receive news that she had been awarded not one, but two new automobiles in a nation-wide contest sponsored by the Mercury division of the Ford Motor Company. She will receive a Mercury Montclair custom and a Comet custom convertible. 75 Years Ago Tom Sharp and Donald Jefferies, of this city, left recently for a two-weeks hunting trip and vacation in Michigan. They will make their headquarters at Trenary, Mich. Melvin Baker and Franzil Baker returned recently to Warsaw from Miami, Fla., where they spent the past two weeks. Elmer B. Funk, George McKrill, Harry Breading and Kenneth Breading attended the Seven County Bankers meeting at the LaFontaine Hotel, Huntington.
