Dennis "Nub" Lowry and Mrs. Gordon (Lane) Drake invite the public to an open house at the Leesburg Lions building Nov. 13 to help celebrate the 90th birthday of their mother, Dorothy (Harman) Lowry.

Kyle Munch, 4, and his classmates paraded outside around the Presbyterian Preschool during the annual Fall Parade. Kyle portrayed Little Boy Blue.
Washington Elementary won the Warsaw School Corp. girls volleyball championship, with a 5-0 record. Atwood and Claypool tied for second, 4-1 records. Jefferson Elementary won the boys soccer championship, posting a 5-0 record. Washington and Claypool tied for second with 4-1 records

Punt, Pass and Kick winners, ages 8-13: Tony Heiman, Barry Kline, Ken Kindle, Ted Pinnick, Steve Shoemaker, David Rasor, Lance Grubbs, Mike Kinney, John Wallace, Mark Davis, Dave Gable, Bill Hamilton, Jeff Rudd, Tom Wiltrout, Randy Coplen, Denny Dock, Gary Powers and Dennis Hepler. The contest, sponsored locally by Herm Schaefer Ford Co., was held at Fisher Field.
Pierceton High School presents the play, "Dino," Oct. 19 and 20. Playing lead roles are Laura Stickler, Terri Evans, Richard Stickney, Steve Likens, Barry Reed and Doug Gregory as Dino. The play is under the direction of Robert Boley.
75 Years
Mary Hurd, Martha Groves and Trella Caris, who retired from the teaching profession at Milford last spring, were the guests of honor at a dinner at Henry's tea room, Goshen, Thursday evening, Oct. 17. After a three-course dinner, each guest was presented with a lovely gift, then taken to Elkhart, where the picture show, "Knute Rockne, All-American," was enjoyed.
Althea Hanson and Sally Stickney, of the Girl Scouts, conducted a series of meetings at the public library, the scout room at the high school and at the Hotel Hays this week. Fall training for this region will be held at Maxinkuckee Inn, Culver, the week of November 3 to 9.
