    With the addition of another candidate, it appears the race for sheriff of Kosciusko County will be contested by Republicans and Democrats.

Sheriff's patrolman Jeff Bronsing, 49, of Syracuse, has thrown his name into the ring and will run on the Democratic ticket.

    Airman 1st Class Jeffrey C. Tackett, son of William F. and Beverly J. Tackett, Warsaw, and an avionics systems specialist with the 60th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, has been decorated with the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal at Travis Air Force Base, Calif.

The Air Force Commendation Medal is awarded to those individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement or meritorious service in the performance of their duties on behalf of the Air Force.

    Eugene Brown, 29, has taken over the position of night radio man at the Warsaw Police Station in the city hall.

Brown, of 918 E. Center. St., was appointed by mayor Jack Engle to the post vacated last month by Frank McGuire. The post pays $3,800 per year.

    BOURBON - Mr. and Mrs. Robert Simpson, living near Bourbon, celebrated their 63rd anniversary. Both Mr. and Mrs. Simpson are in excellent health and very active in their daily and religious work. Simpson is a Civil War veteran and has long been a prominent citizen of Bourbon Township.
