Jewelers Bill and Kathy Allen owners of Allen's Designs Inc. in Warsaw were recently featured in "National Jeweler," an industry trade publication, for their specially designed line of jewelry, which the Allens sell to benefit breast cancer research. All proceeds from the line, which includes a pendant, a bracelet and earrings, are donated to the Catherine Peachey Fund, a not-for-profit agency for the benefit of breast cancer research.
Warsaw Middle School is enjoying the start of its second year with a computer lab. The computer lab is used primarily for teaching computer literacy to seventh- and eighth-grade students. Each student spends 10 days learning about and working with computers. The lab is operated by Dennis Van Duyne.
"Youngster" Roscoe Satterlee, of Warsaw, welcomed his mother, Estella Satterlee, aged 91 and his aunt, Mrs. Leota Parish, 101, after the two sisters came from Iowa, most of the way by airplane, to visit him in Warsaw this week. The two elderly women, both of whom live in Iowa, enjoyed the airplane ride from Des Moines to South Bend. It was Mrs. Satterlee's first plane ride, but Mrs. Parish is an old hand at it.
The annual oyster supper of the Kosciusko County Rural Letter Carriers and Ladies' Auxiliary was held recently in the basement of the Pierceton Baptist Church, with Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Delano and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Long as hosts and hostesses.
