    The Ramada Plaza Hotel Women's Bridge Group met Dec. 31 with four tables playing. Winners were Joelyn Hepler, Grace Mayer, Mary Derry and Jean Kolar. Hostess was Mary Ruth Hinshaw.

    Larry Bair received his third promotion from the Warsaw Community School Board and will now serve as president during his fourth year on that board.

Nominated by Tom Lemon, Bair was unanimously chosen as president by fellow board members Lemon, Jean Bowers, John Frederich, Martha Klinger, Bob Tess and Jim Keeton.

January 10 1959

    William "Bill" Hudson, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Hudson, East Center Street, has been elected president of Triangle fraternity at the University of (Lawrence) Kansas. Triangle is a national engineering fraternity. Bill, a junior, is majoring in math.

January 10 1934

    The ladies of the United Brethren Church will have a thimble party at the home of Mrs. William Miner of West Center Street. Sewing on the quilts for the Otterbein home will be done.
