Coldwell Banker welcomed Barbara Valentine, Warsaw. She graduated from Lakeland Christian Academy in 1989 and worked for Kosciusko Community Hospital as a diagnostic assistant for seven years, then decided to become licensed.
Sprint’s Annual Charity Golf Open was held at Rozella Ford Golf Course Aug. 28, attracting 108 golfers from eight states. The winning team players, finishing 12 under par, were Gary Hamilton, Terry Tomlinson, Mark Kensinger, Tom White, Shawn Davis and Adam Hunjo. Money raised went to the local Red Cross.
Coach Chris LaLonde told her Warsaw Community High School girls golf team to “never give up.” The team advanced to the state finals for the second straight year.

Pardee Gunter’s sixth-grade students at Washington Elementary School were the winners of the DARE box design contest. Designers were John Crouse, Andrea King, Lindsay Betz, Matt Davis and Jason Sizemore. Pizza Hut of Warsaw donated pizza to the winning class and RKO Bottlers donated soft drinks.

Syracuse Auto License Branch Manager Mrs. Max Ganshorn will be taking orders for the new 1965 plates. Merritt Lung, Syracuse, has #1.
Junior Slone, Scottie Hoskins and John Mauk, all of Warsaw, killed a water moccasin in a creek west of Warsaw.
Edgar Speer, Syracuse Elementary School Principal, talked with kindergarten teachers as they prepared for the opening day of classes in the Lakeland School Corp. They were Patricia Shoemaker, North Webster; J. Ethel Price, Leesburg and Milford; and Karel Hollingsworth, Syracuse.
Nancy Kay Terrell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Terrell, Akron, and “General Rocky” won the Palomino State Class riding contest at the Indiana State Fair.

Menzie’s Motor Sales will take Miss Warsaw and her chaperon to the Miss Indiana competition in Michigan City Aug. 11-13 in a new 1939 Plymouth. Priscilla Campbell, former physical training teacher in the Warsaw city schools, will teach swimming in a Girl Scout camp in Spencer.
Warsaw’s Boy Scouts will leave for camp at Goardy Lake near Cromwell. Johnny Brenneman and Richard Chinworth are waiting on their pals to arrive.
