The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary began its new year with a new slate of officers: president, Gale Bryan; vice president, Joy Carlson; secretary, Mildred Frantz; and treasurer, Pat Brown. The women also welcomed Lt. Audrey Schneider, the new corps officer. The organization has more than 60 members.
Warsaw Community High School has been notified that seven of its seniors have been designated Commended Students in the 1985 Merit Program. Richard Kline, principal, announced that Pamela J. Bays, Andrew C. Camp, Doug D. Dwyer, Brian England, Charles J. Furman, Landon D. Harman and Angela L. Ryman placed in the top 5 percent of more than one million participants in the 30th annual competition and will receive a letter of commendation in honor of outstanding promise for future academic success.
Eighteen members of the Leesburg Tri Arts club had a chicken barbecue at the home of Mrs. Clyde Bair earlier this week. Mrs. Dale Morehouse, Mrs. Floyd Smith and Mrs. Walter Deatsman assisted the hostess.
Miss Helen Mauzy and sister, Mrs. Paul Reynolds, have returned from Lindsborg, Kan., after visiting for the past several weeks in that city with relatives.
