    SOUTH BEND - Several local members of the Ivy Tech State College faculty and staff were honored recently for their length of service with the college.

Recognized for five years of service were: Randy Maxson, Winona Lake, an instructor and coordinator of the general education program; and Lauran Sattler, coordinator of the Computer Information Systems program. Recognized for 10 years of service was: Mary Marty, Syracuse, admissions counselor. All serve at Ivy Tech at Warsaw.

    Emily Katsanis, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Katsanis, North Webster, and Dick Doll, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Doll, Milford, were named Wawasee Homecoming Queen and King during ceremonies at halftime of the Wawasee-East Noble football game. Wawasee won the game 7-0.

    AROUND ... OUR TOWN AND COUNTY - Three Manchester College students from our county have been appointed by David McCormick, director, to play this year in the college band. Marilyn Paton, sophomore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George R. Paton, of near Leesburg, will play the saxophone. Gerald Miller, a junior, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Miller, also of near Leesburg, will play the tuba. Sue Ann Borton, sophomore, daughter of Pauline Borton, of Mentone, will play the cornet.

    LAFAYETTE - Hobart Creighton, Warsaw, was elected first vice president of the Indiana Poultry Association and C.I. Bashore, Silver Lake, second vice president.

Both Kosciusko County men were prominent speakers at the 1933 convention.
