Band director James Beuter and the Tippecanoe Valley Viking Guard celebrated on their way home from District Marching Band Contest at Penn High School, Mishawaka. The Viking Guard received a Division 1 rating and will advance to regional competition Oct. 18.

Donna Rose, Bourbon, received a diamond ring for her 30 years of service to the Orthopedic Equipment Co., Bourbon.

Bob Cain, Mentone, and Chuck Penn, Fawn Holloway and Jeff Yoder, all of Bourbon, all received 20-year service awards.

The Atwood 4-H team was winner with a total of 596 points in the recent Kosciusko County judging contest.

The 10 high individuals were Ronald Robert of Syracuse, 206; Bob Creighton and Tom Groninger, Atwood, 205 and 197 respectively; Nelson Beer, Milford, 195; Frank Rink, Norman Hunsberger, both of Milford, and Paul Haney, Atwood, all tied with 194 each; Jim Hibschman, Syracuse, 192; Larry Worley, Atwood, 184; and Bob Beer, Milford, 182.
