10 Years Ago Workers recently installed safety mirrors at the Winona Avenue crossing. The mirrors are a result of a combined effort with the city of Warsaw, Warsaw Police Department and Warsaw Community Schools to help bus drivers better see oncoming trains. According to Della Swain, WCS transportation director, the curves on the train track on both sides of the Winona Avenue intersection cause blind areas. With the buildings near the tracks, Swain said, bus drivers must pull up close to the track to see both ways, but with the mirrors, they can see train lights more easily. 25 Years Ago Jenny Bender and Brandon Hepler were named as Triton High School’s Homecoming Queen and King during the school’s football game Friday.
