Turtle enthusiast Isaac Tyson presented a selection of his turtle collection to the Head Start-Enrichment Arts Class recently. Tyson first started presenting turtles when he was in the second grade. Now 16 and a home-schooled junior, Tyson has 18 different kinds of turtles and has given presentations to various organizations like Lincoln Elementary, Warsaw Parks Department, Camp Mollenhour, Department of Natural Resources Camp and others. He calls his enterprise, “Tons of Turtles.”

The Warsaw Tigers boys tennis team record is now 14-2 with a 3-0 win over No. 19 LaPorte. The 1986 team consists of Jim Gorman, Tony Robinson, Eric Suchecki, Greg Montgomery, Wally Horin, Josh Grill, Ken Crabb, Chris McCleary, Doug Lemon, Alan Albright, Darin Conley, Dusty Stamper, Doug Stamper, David Scott, Brant Bair and head coach Joe Beeson.

Warsaw boys and girls (kindergarten through the fourth grade) brought cats, dogs, rabbits, etc., for the children’s parade sponsored here recently by the local Kiwanis Club. Grouped together in a photo were Jerry Lynn Hopkins, 7, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cloyce Hopkins; Fred Kintzel, 7, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kintzel, with his cat in a bird cage; Paul Whitesell, 6, son of Mr. and Mrs. Doug Whitesell; Ted Eherenman, 5, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Eherenman; and Tammy Evans, 6, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Evans. Ted wouldn’t hold his rabbit (which was on the ground), claiming it was much too wet.

Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Caywood, Bob Caywood, Miss Jean Hoover, and Miss Betty Caywood, of Warsaw, and Bob Amber, of Columbia City, attended the White Sox-Cubs game in Chicago, and were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wheeland, formerly of Warsaw.
