The 4/5s class at Greater Warsaw Cooperative Preschool took a field trip to Lee Anne Stewart Dance School in Syracuse, where they enjoyed mini dance classes. The school provided tap shoes to Sky Knisely, Abby Heckaman, Evan Borchers and McClain McCorkle. Lindsay Beasley and Lee Anne Stewart were instructors.
Students at Eisenhower Elementary School, Warsaw, kicked off National Red Ribbon Week by going outside and joining hands all the way around their school.
The Princeton Review named Grace College as a “Best Midwestern College” for the second year. Grace was chosen from among more than 2,000 colleges and universities.

Grace Theological Seminary officials have named the Old and New Testament Research Center the Peitzman Room in memory of friends, Austin and Ellen Peitzman, Dallas Center, Iowa. Officers are Dr. John J. Davis, president; Dr. David Plaster, vice president for academic affairs; Dr. Gary T. Meadors, professor of the New Testament.
Kay Westhues, Winona Lake, won third prize in a contest sponsored by the Indiana Historical Society. Contestants were to submit photos that capture the Hoosier image. Westhues photographed a man and his coon dog in Walkerton.
Warsaw will be represented in the New York Marathon Nov. 5 by Carey Stogsdill,  city firefighter for three years.

William Crosier, high school guidance counselor, Charles Abbott, Ball State, and seniors Beth Swain and Sue Quillen, took part in College Night, which saw the largest crowd of parents and students ever to attend.
Dr. Wallace Bash, 1935 Warsaw High School graduate and now a promising Fort Wayne pediatrician, will be the main speaker for Warsaw homecoming ceremonies at Fisher Field. Principal William Davis and student program chairman Robin “Shark” White said the ceremonies will begin with a parade of cars carrying the queen and her court. The 1964 queen will be chosen from seniors Cindy Konkle, Barbara Kerber and Candy Thomas. Her court will be comprised of juniors Angela Blanchard and Sherri Goshert, and sophomores Betty Jo Carlin and Vonnie Goshert.

Kosciusko County will be represented at the Indiana State Fair Girls School by three comely lassies:  Betty Dewart, Warsaw; Mary Alice Long, Mentone; and Minnie White, Beaver Dam. They are sponsored by the Warsaw Rotary Club, Home Economics Association and the County Club Committee.
Freddy Wolford, 13, has a new nickname, “Trigger,” for his dad, Leonard Wolford, Warsaw fire truck driver because of his recent enthusiasm in purchasing western thoroughbred horses in the Dakotas.
Mary White, Barbee Lake, has accepted a position with the Haffner variety store in Warsaw.
