    Three art students from Whitko High School received selected medals in the 28th Exhibition of World School Children's Art.

Kathleen Dombek, Randy Kilbourne and Jason Slone were recognized for their work submitted to the exhibition, which was held this year in the Republic of China, Taipei. Whitko was one of 11 schools representing the United States in the competition.

    Freshman High student Karl Yets gave Madison Elementary fifth-grader Brian Klinger some pointer on nature during a recent trip to the wildlife preserve near Madison School. It was part of a program where the Freshman High biology students led mini-field trips for fifth-graders at Madison.

    Lanny Mauzy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thames Mauzy, Route 2, has pledged Delta Chi fraternity at DePauw University. He also has been selected for the school choir.

    Mrs. A.B. Klinefelter, who owns the Atwood Flower Gardens, brought to The Times recently a basket of Dahlias which were exhibited at the county fair. The dahlias were among the finest and largest flowers of this variety seen in the exhibit, and for beauty could not be surpassed.
