   The seventh annual Northeast Lakes Middle School Conference Spell Bowl Competition was Oct. 15 at the Lincoln Junior High in Plymouth. Lakeview Middle School earned second-place honors with 58 points, finishing just behind Rochester Middle School, with 59 points. Lakeview Middle School team members are Taylor Crane, Kelley Erickson, Scott Harman, Sarah Kelly, Mallory Martin, Dylan Ratliff, Brandi Thieke, Cassie Walgamuth, Rachael Wilson, Tilton and Erica Zuniga. Jeannie Francalancia was their coach.

   Lincoln School fourth graders Gabe Meerzo and Travis Parker got a real thrill recently. As the winners of a districtwide paper airplane contest, they received a ride in the hot air balloon of Father Rick Stieglitz of Sacred Heart Church. Warsaw elementary schools science teacher Dan Wray also went along for the ride.

    Mr. and Mrs. Fred Rarick have returned from a trip through the Western states and a visit with their son, Walden Rarick, of Los Angeles. They also visited their granddaughter, Mrs. Shirley Chilton and family, of Dallas, Texas. Guests at the Rarick home during the weekend were the Rev. and Mrs. Henry Proffitt and daughters Lauren, Linda and Lisa, of Williamsport, Ind.

    Quints – but not quintuplets, four boys and one girl, five tiny bundles from heaven, all born within the past, few days at the emergency hospital here, shown pictured on the  front page by the Times cameraman, who risked much as he invaded the baby ward while fussing nurses scurried about. The group, all born to Warsaw parents, include: Carleton Lee Woodworth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Woodworth; Julia Barnard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ward; Billy Ray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Deafenbaugh; Robert Parker, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hodges; Jimmie Dale, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Perry.
