    A recent picture was taken of Jay Godshalk and his 102-pound watermelon he began growing in May. He said he's been growing them for six to eight years "just to watch them grow."

    ANDERSON - John Lucas, of Warsaw, was a quarter-finalist in the Men's D tournament, and Betty Metzger, of North Manchester, was a semi-finalist in the Women's B action, at the Holiday Inn Classic racquetball tournament recently.

    William K. "Bill" Mollenhour, business manager and aviation editor of The Times-Union and WRSW, was the recipient of the Indiana Aviation Special Recognition Award.

The award is presented annually during the Indiana Aviation Conference to a person who does not depend on the aviation industry as a livelihood, but who has contributed willingly to the industry in his own behalf without solicitation.

    Not only in Warsaw are fruit trees blooming out of season as was the case of a pear tree at the Frank N. Leas residence, but Mrs. Sherman Deaton of Syracuse reports that she had two German plum trees in bloom this week and she also picked some ripe raspberries.
