Da-Lite Screen Co. Inc. employees are forging ahead with business, just days after a tornado ripped the front off the company’s Ind. 15 facility and left behind millions of dollars in damage. They expect to be back in production on Monday and all employees have been told to return to work. Roughly 400 people are employed in the two shifts at Da-Lite. The newest portion of the facility, located at the south end of the building, was destroyed, and the company has moved a portion of its warehouse to the former Sofamor Danek building in Winona Lake until reconstruction is completed.

Warsaw Mayor Jeff Plank presented a group of visitors from Colombia, South America, with a Warsaw city flag. The delegation, a Rotary International Study Exchange Group, representing District 429, were in the area recently as guests of local Rotary Club members. Members of the group were Jack Cluen, Warsaw Rotary Club president; Carlos Arboleda; Louis Londono; Mayor Plank; delegation leader Jaime Zualega; and Efrain Vallejo. The group visited local industries and area Rotary Clubs.

Hobart E. Creighton of Warsaw was recently named to be director of the Indiana-Purdue Foundation, which will operate a joint I.U.-Purdue Center in Fort Wayne. Creighton, prominent poultry dealer and once a Republican nominee for governor of Indiana, was appointed by the Purdue Board of Trustees.

The senior class of the Leesburg High School will produce the comedy, “Tell the Judge,” Thursday and Friday nights in the gym. Those taking part are: Lucile Frederickson, Helen Lippincott, Helen Zimmerman, Gene Stoneburner, Clarence Teghtmeyer, William Bridenthrall, Donovan Longenecker and Robert Bishop.
