The former WorldCom employee appears in Playboy magazine’s “Women of WorldCom” pictorial in the magazine’s December (2002) issue. Nichols was selected from more than 300 current and former WorldCom employees who answered Playboy’s invitation to pose. She graduated from Purdue in 1993 with a degree in organizational leadership and supervision. 25 Years Ago This recipe for Mom’s Italian Spaghetti & Meatballs was submitted to the Spotlight Recipe Contest by Cathy Suchecki, Warsaw. Ingredients: 1 large can tomatoes; 1/2 can large tomato juice; 2 (15 oz.) cans tomato sauce; 1 (8 oz.) can tomato puree; 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste. Combine the above in a large pan. In a skillet, lay bulbs of 1 whole garlic, cut in half, in 2 tbsp. oil. Combine 4 lbs. ground beef, 2 eggs and enough cracker meal to make a meatball. Fry meatballs in oil. As meatballs are done, drop into sauce. When all meatballs are cooked and dropped in sauce, cover and cook on low heat for 2 hours. Serve over spaghetti. 50 Years Ago Mrs. Carl Evans and Paul Conkle chat with the attractive Marvella Bayh, wife of Democrat senatorial candidate Birch Bayh, prior to the Democrat “Meet Your Candidates” dinner recently at the Westminster Hotel, Winona Lake. Mrs. Bayh told a crowd of approximately 350 persons that her husband has always maintained the Castro Government in Cuba “must go” but that he would endeavor to avoid an all-out war if possible. She also touched on the Peace Corps and the accomplishments of her husband. 75 Years Ago Miss Josephine Lafler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Lafler, was a member of the Battle Creek College, Battle Creek, Mich., field hockey team which recently defeated the Michigan State hockey squad, 5-0, in an invitational tournament game at Cranbrook School, Detroit.
