10 Years AgoShannon Middaugh, 30, Warsaw, has dreamed of working in the community for a long time. This month she is being recognized as supported employee of the month through the Cardinal Center Inc., Warsaw, for her employment at Biomet Inc. Biomet also is being recognized as supported employer of the month. Cardinal Center Inc., Warsaw, is celebrating Supported Employment Month, a program funded by Vocational Rehabilitation.25 Years AgoBeginning Sunday, an era of yesteryear will return to Kosciusko County as passenger trains begin stopping at the old Warsaw Depot in the downtown business district. Amtrak's "Broadway Limited" will stop for three minutes or less and then will depart westbound from the old Warsaw train station at 8:14 a.m., according to Joseph L. Pollard III, Amtrak's district sales manager for the Great Lakes area. Pollard said riders should be prompt at the depot because the train will be here for only a few minutes on each stop. All eastbound trains will stop and depart at 8:49 p.m. daily at the Warsaw Depot.50 Years AgoTwo Kosciusko County youngsters -- Mike Stevens, 10, of Pierceton, and Missy Thomas, 9, of Warsaw, will be partners of "The Cisco Kid" when he visits Warsaw for the climax of "Amigo Days" Oct. 28th. Mike is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Stevens, and Missy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thomas, Warsaw. The "Cisco Kid" is, in reality, veteran movie and TV actor Duncan Renaldo. He will be here to visit Murphy Medical Center, nursing homes and the county farm, participate in a parade and present a special skit.75 Years AgoThe Masonic dinner was given recently in honor of Alfred B. Sloan, the oldest member of Lake City, Warsaw Lodge No. 73. Mentone Lodge, No. 576, was special guest at the dinner. Rev. O.T. Martin and Rev. B.M. Bechdolt were honored guests.
