The Warsaw Branch of American Association of University Women met recently at the home of Mary Eherenman.
Co-hostesses were Sue Brennan, Mary Ettinger, Doris Everson, Eldora Nehr and Carol Potter. An autumn theme carried through the decorations and refreshments. This is the 50th anniversary year of the organization in the community.

The Mentone Reading Club held their October meeting at the home of Mrs. Larry Pyle, with Mrs. John Hurst as co-hostess.
Mrs. Hurst introduced Judy Peterson of near Rochester, who, assisted by her daughter Jill, presented a knitting machine demonstration. Mrs. Peterson is owner of the Knit Witchery, and has yarns, knitting machines and publications for sale.

Richard Beers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest C. Beers, Warsaw, will attend the National Forensic League Congress in Indianapolis next March.
Beers, a senior student in Mrs. Herbert Petrie's Warsaw High School speech department, earned the right to advance to Indianapolis by composing and arguing for a bill dealing with religious education in public schools. The bill proposes an elective course in religion be offered students by an instructor of the student's choice.

J.E. Beyer of Winona Lake leaves on Friday for New York City to visit for a few days with his son, Earl Beyer. Mr. Beyer will return to Winona Lake before departing for California, where he usually spends the winter.
