Kosciusko Community Hospital announced that Joe Miller received the Very Special Person Award recently at the medical staff meeting. The selection is based upon the nominee's outstanding contributions that allow the organization continual growth and development.
A ceremonial passing of the deed took place recently at the entrance to Chicago Boys Club on the shores of Winona Lake. New owners Steve Heckman and Joe Prout, who both live on Winona Lake, say they are uncertain of what they will do with the property, which includes some 3,000 feet of shoreline. They say they will hire a professional planner to make recommendations. The 180-acre camp, which had been operated by Chicago Boys Club since 1960, went up for sale in the spring 1983.
An advertisement in the Saturday Evening Post featured the Gene Ringenberg family of near Pierceton. The advertisement, in the form of a story, is a report by the A. O. Smith Corporation titled "Vanishing Americans." It features a story and pictures of Gene, his wife Sally, and their two children, Kerry and Karen. It tells how they are making a go of it on their 200-acre dairy farm near Pierceton by applying creative methods to extend the range of their own labors.
Twenty-seven members of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority met recently at the home of Mrs. Adeline Hall on West Main street. A short business session was held, following which the meeting adjourned.
