More than 450 people attended the annual Kosciusko County Right To Life Banquet at Rodeheaver Auditorium. Jeff Neumann, principal of Madison Elementary School, was the master of ceremonies. Dave Koontz, executive director, announced a new pro-life award, the Mary Louise Lowe Award, one of the founders of KCRTL and who remains active. It went to the late Jerry Kralis, accepted by his wife, Savina.

Warsaw Kiwanis Club officers are Dan Walcott, president; Jerry Irvine, past president; Ken Hunn, president-elect; Fred Ross, first vice-president; Charles Turner, second vice-president; Phil Braman, secretary; Dick Dobbins, treasurer; installing officer, Lt. Gov. Jim Causey of the Land of Lakes Division. Directors are John Conley, Jack Cook, Charles Ashman, Don Trease, Chris Meschke, Isaac Mensah and Gary Hamman.
Accelerated biology students at Warsaw Freshman High School have been teaching Washington Elementary fourth and sixth-graders about ecology at neighboring Woodward Woods. Kendra Thomas received a lesson from freshman Beth Vrabel.
Triton High School home economics teacher Anita Orcutt was presented the Outstanding Service Award by the Indiana Vocational Home Economics Association.

Rehearsals are underway for the Pierceton High School play, “Our Town,” directed by Mrs. Robert Boley. Richard Stickney is the stage manager. Cheryl Rager and Laura Stickler will portray Emily Webb on different nights; Doug Gregory, George Gibbs; Kay Howell and Barbara Boggs, Mrs. Gibbs; Scott Hanley, Dr. Gibbs.
Jean Leasure and Lloyd Ness are the guidance counselors in the Whitko schools. Leasure is with South Whitley, Sidney and Monroe; Ness, Pierceton and Larwill.
Patty May is serving as the Times-Union reporter for Larwill School this year. She will report all items of interest for publication.
Superintendent Ray Nine is investigating why blacktop came off three roads Friday (Country Club, Pierceton, 225 South) after being applied Thursday morning.

The Milford Mail appears this week under new management, having been sold by Barnes & Forbing, who operated it for many years, to Archie M. Baumgartner, Milford, a young man who returned from college in Michigan. C.D. Barnes replaces John Robinson as cashier of the Milford Citizens State Bank. Publisher Forbing, in charge of the mechanical department, has not announced his future plans.
L.L. Kemper, South Bend, was principal of the old Center Ward School for 12 years, from 1899 to 1911. He announced that the Kosciusko County Veteran Teachers Association will meet Aug. 26 at the Warsaw City Park for their annual reunion.
