The Upsilon Chapter of Lambda Chi Omega Sorority held their October business meeting at Grace Village social rooms. A report was given on the state convention at the Brown County Inn in Nashville. The following members attended: Dolores Pittienger, patroness; Eileen Estep; Dottie Baker, Sue Bradway, Sandy Nellans, Lois Smith, Loretta Smith, Peg Zimmerman, Jeanne Silveus, Melaney Rooney, social delegate; and Pat Johnston, business delegate. Sandy Nellans was elected to the office of state treasurer and Jeanne Silveus was elected state vice president.

Kosciusko County Republicans inducted four of their own into the hall of fame recently at the annual Republican Hall of Fame Banquet, and honored longtime GOP leader Wayne Tombaugh of Mentone with the Sagamore of the Wabash award. Former county clerk T. Ethna Scott; past Republican chairman Jean Northenor; State Rep. Thames L. Mauzy; and State Sen. John B. Augsburger were the inductees. The featured speaker at the banquet was 3rd District Congressman John Hiler.

Robert Creighton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Creighton, Warsaw, was one of 97 students honored at the fall Honors Day convocation at Indiana Central College. Each qualified by completing 24 or more semester hours last year with a grade of B or better. Bob graduated from Atwood High School.

Mrs. Silas Warner and two children, Robert, 9, and Barbara, 6, were accompanied recently to Mooseheart, Ill., where they will be entered in the school which “Trains for Life.” Each child who is graduated from the institution is assured of a job.
Miss Martha Gast, first-year student at Indiana University, Bloomington, will visit over the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.A. Gast.
