    The Triton junior high boys cross country team recently won the Northern State Conference championship. They are Kyle Bell, Tim Speicher, Nate Vining, Josh Nifong, Braxton Barton, Nate Gephart, Eric Lemler, Chris Kauffman, Ryan Gephart, Matt Yankovich, Seth Bowers, Josh Moore and Chris Yoder.

    Competing with more than a hundred entries in the Indiana Audubon Society's Nature Photography Contest held at the Mary Gray Sanctuary near Connersville, Paul Steffen, Warsaw businessman, took home three honors. In addition to first and second places in the "slides" category, one of his entries received an "honorable mention" award.

October 20 1957

    An Associated Press dispatch today (Oct. 12) telling of 3,500 U.S. Marines withdrawing from Japan makes note that Pfc. Merl A. Tinkey, of Warsaw, was a member of the group.

The story tells of the Marines marching out of their camp in the foothills of Mt. Fuji in the final stage of the withdrawal of all Marine ground troops from Japan.

October 20 1932

    What is believed to be the shortest will filed in Kosciusko County the past 25 years was filed with County Clerk Leland Kinsey. The will is that of Dr. B.F. Hoy, of Syracuse, and is dated Sept. 8, 1930. The will reads: "I will all my property to my wife and appoint her executrix without bond." Under the will Fannie C. Hoy is the beneficiary.
