Don Kaiser of Warsaw had one of his stories published in the November 2005 issue of "Good Old Days" magazine. Kaiser, 85, is a freelance writer who has been submitting original stories to publishers for 22 years. He especially enjoys writing stories concerning nostalgia and his early years. His story is entitled "That Dear Old Kitchen." Kaiser is retired from janitorial services, collects "Gone With the Wind" memorabilia and writes regular letters to the editor in The Times-Union.
The Golden April Home Ec Club, Pierceton, welcomed Don Guard and his wife, Sue, to their September meeting at the Blue Lion. Mr. Guard shared the history of the Purple Heart. Jane Demske, president; Val Fisher, vice president.
25 Years
Warsaw Police Chief Craig Allebach recently graduated from the FBI National Academy at Quantico, Va. He started his career with the Winona Lake Police Department in 1978 before moving to Warsaw's department, where he has been chief since 1988. The FBI National Academy began in July 1935 and now boasts 23,399 graduates. Allebach was one of four Indiana police officers completing the 11-week course. Allebach is a Grace College graduate and a 1986 graduate of the Kosciusko County Leadership Academy.

Rotary Little League team won the North Manchester American League title with 11 straight wins: Scott and Guy Eberly, Don Good, Jim Marks, Ken Burton, Steve Roth, Tom Stewart, Ron Parmerlee, Wayne Beck, Jim Powell, Dennis Byers, Ray Kauffman, Jan Blocher, Scott Mangus, John Overholt. For the fourth straight year, Gordon Belcher, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Belcher, Warsaw, was the first to sign up when Baker Boys' Club opened its season. Total membership to date is 153, according to executive director Robert Lichtenwalter. The first game of ping pong was won by Mike Bullers; first game of pool by Brad Long.
75 Years
The Pennsylvania Railroad Company has a force of workmen engaged in the construction of a cement curb around the pavement in front of the passenger station, extending the entire distance of the block between Lake and Washington streets.
Coach George Fisher's football boys are practicing under night lights at a local field, almost covered from view by a low-hanging fog. Warsaw should have a good team this year as only four letterman out of last year's 20 were lost.
Samuel F. DePoy, county welfare director, said Kosciusko's quota for the October enrollment in the CCC is five. Applicants will be taken to the CCC camp near Wabash on October 10.
