   Laughter rang out recently at Lakeview Middle School auditorium as Warsaw Community High School presented “An Evening of One-Act Plays.” A total of 45 students performed in the eight plays, which ran from seven to 20 minutes, and all were student-directed. The “Evening” is the high school’s yearly fundraiser for the theater department.

    The Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic in Warsaw has been using a Biodex machine for pre-participation screening of area athletes this fall. Two Warsaw Community High School football players, Mike Hobbs and Paul Wiley, are having their knees checked by physical therapist Tom Johnson. The biodex is used to pinpoint muscle weakness and injury potential in an attempt to provide preventive methods to orthopedic patients and athletics. The machine is one of only four in the state.

    A Winona Lake woman, Mrs. Clyde (Ruby) Landrum, will see her sister for the first time in 16 years when she and her husband take a two-month trip to South America. It is not only the first time in 16 years, but also the second time in 31 years that Mrs. Landrum will see her sister, Mrs. Ricardo (Laura) Wagner, who is the wife of an Argentine pastor living in Rio Cuarto. The Wagners and three of their four children were in the United States in 1946 and spent some time in Warsaw area before returning to Argentina.

    Mrs. Raymond Weed, of Warsaw, and Miss Betty Jane Teeter, of North Manchester, are spending Monday and Tuesday in Chicago where they are attending the American Beauty Culture convention at the Hotel Sherman.
     Mr. and Mrs. Homer Ring, Frank Ohmart and the Misses Ellen Leiter and Kathryn Schade spent Sunday at Indianapolis where they attended a clothing convention at the Claypool Hotel.
