Edgewood Middle School seventh-grade volleyball team won the Lakeview Middle School Invitational. Players were Avelina Gonzalez, Kallie Volkert, Lauren Sciarra, Cendall Ogle, Kaitlin Reichard, Abby Pratt, Kelci Freds, Alec Reese, Sydney Keefer, Autumn Deeter, Corrine Coon, Bethany Ransbottom, Sarah Shilling and Kaitlin Gruenewald; manager Kristen Barnes; student coach Kena Neher; and Coach Gary Mohler.
West Eel River Church will celebrate its Homecoming Oct. 10. The friends will present a program in song and testimony: Don Poyser, lead; Gene Messmore, tenor; Debbie Thomas, pianist/singer; Bernard Kuhn, bass; Don Sellers, rhythm guitar; Eldon Martin, baritone; Delmar Shepard, bass guitar. The group formed in the Burket Church 25 years ago.

Zimmer officials say the company will break ground on a new office complex next spring at the old Freshman High site. The building is in the design stages now and bidding on contracts could take place in early 1990.
Warsaw’s Sherlock Harrison enjoyed a big night as he caught four passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns. The Tigers lost the game to NorthWood 24-21 when the Panthers kicked a field goal on the last play.
Rozella Ford Golf Course recorded its third hole-in-one this year. Dail Barber Jr. picked up his ace on hole No. 15, which plays 209 yards by using a 3-wood. Witnessing the event were Drs. James and Lloyd Morgan.

Max Neff, Warsaw, will graduate Sept. 25 from the Indiana College of Mortuary Science, Indianapolis, and will be associated with the Titus Funeral Home. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neff, Warsaw, and is a 1952 graduate of Warsaw High School.
Bruce Howe, representing Tippecanoe Lake Country Club, defeated Keith Yoder of the Elcona Country Club, Elkhart, to win the “Putt and Take” golf series televised over WSJV. Both took 35 putts over the 18 holes, but Howe came closest to the cup in the 42-foot jackpot putt.
Warsaw Kiwanis Kids Day is Sept. 26. The school band, under the direction of Bazil O’Reilley, will lead the parade.

Daily Times newsboys are Wesley Perkins, David West, Francis Symons, George Hauth, Charles Byland, Jackson Dobbins, Bud Perkins, Bill Hankins, Roger Phillips, Thomas Moser, Duane Brindle, Richard Zimmer, Bill Brindle, Allen Rasor, Gene Hill, Forrest Perkins and Charles Loehr. These youngsters dispatch more than 1,700 papers daily in Warsaw and Winona Lake.
Mrs. E. Winton Thomas, Leesburg, entertained Tuesday at her home in honor of her daughter, Martha, on her second birthday anniversary. Guests from Warsaw were Barbara and Beverly Baum, Mary Beth Hartman, Nondas and Nadine Heitmann, Jimmy Hall, Billy and Andy Hill, Mesdames William Hill, Walter Kintzel, Fred Hartman, Robert Hall and Clarence Heitmann.
