The Stonehenge ladies bridge winners were Peg Zimmerman, Doris Kesler, Helen Miller and Val Finkenbinder.
Couples bridge winners were Shirley Petro, Kathleen Martin, Jackie Tinkey, Dale Wright, Tony Frazzetta, Ivan Oberlin, Lyn Corbett and Nancy McNolty.
Bistro ‘A Lago Ladies Bridge Group met recently with seven tables playing. Winners were Mary Ruth Hinshaw, Marjorie Nice, Jean Dungan, Mary Eherenman, Wendy McSherry, Jean Pritchard and Joyce Latta. Hostess was Laura Dobbins.

In honor of National Carrier Day, the Times-Union selected Scott Yeager as its Carrier of the Year. Making the presentation was circulation manager Chuck Hogan. Scott, 16, has been a carrier in the town of South Whitley since November of 1983. The son of James and Cheryl Yeager of South Whitley, he covers his seven-mile route with a mo-ped he purchased with profits earned from the route. Scott is a sophomore at Whitko High School and has played on the junior varsity golf team. He received a pin, patch, certificate and $100 from the Times-Union .

There are 787 students at Warsaw Junior High School, but only two are 13 years old today on Friday the 13th. One is Patricia Ann Cox, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Cox, Warsaw. Being 13 on Friday the 13th didn’t bother her one bit. The other junior high student with a 13th birthday today is Marcia Louise Behnke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Behnke, Warsaw.

Crawling and creeping over piles of discarded county records in the southwest attic room of the Kosciusko County courthouse, in which useless records of another period are thrown, until sold to the rag man, five WPA “boondogglers” from Indianapolis, South Bend and other urban centers are at “work.” When asked what they were doing and the purpose of their visit, one replied, “We have no use for newspaper men.”
