The county highway garage on North Indiana Street and property is being offered for sale by the Kosciusko County commissioners, scheduled for public auction at the auditor's office, courthouse, on Wednesday, November 6. The building and four feet of ground from the jail-yard will not be sold for less than $6,500. County Attorney Walter Brubaker says potential purchasers want to convert the upper rooms in the building into apartments and to construct a stairway on the north side. The lot, on the alley back of the Centennial Theatre, is 33 feet wide and the extra four feet will give a nice frontage on North Indiana Street. The building was purchased for $9,000 fifteen years ago from William B. Botkin, who operated a livery stable. The commissioners have purchased land on East Winona Avenue and built a bigger highway garage.
